Space, Page 143

In The Flying House (1921) a woman eats Welsh Rarebit at a party and later has a tremendous dream that her husband  has transformed their house into a flying machine to escape foreclosure by the bank. They fly the house all around the city, to the ocean, through a storm and even to the moon, eventually falling back to earth.

This cartoon features the hand/presence/power of the animator, a frequent trope in early animation. The Flying House performs this through an intertitle, humorously signed "the management." telling the audience to notice the mastery of its animation of space travel.
