English and Comparative Literature 225 Anniversary Timeline

2011 - The Digital Innovation Lab Launches

Sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences and located in Greenlaw Hall, the Digital Innovation Lab (DIL) provides resources to “integrate project-based, digital methodologies into humanities scholarship and to promote public humanities through digital innovation” (“Our History”). One of the projects developed through Carolina Digital Humanities and its DIL is The Critical Literacy Initiative, which partners with Adobe Enterprises to integrate digital literacy and digital projects into English 105, the first-year writing course. The DIL has been directed by English Professor Dan Anderson since 2016.
