2006 - The Department of English and Comparative Literature

The Department of English and the Curriculum in Comparative Literature combined to form the Department of English and Comparative Literature. Professor James Thompson (1951- ) is department chair at the time. The merger helped to diversify the study of literatures and cultures intranationally and internationally, offering more comparatist and multilingual approaches to the study of rhetoric, writing, film, and literature.
