English and Comparative Literature 225 Anniversary Timeline

1971 - Graduate Students Form the English Club

Graduate students in the Department of English form the English Club, which sponsors speakers, a newsletter, and an annual fall pig-picking to welcome new graduate students. The English Club became the Association for Graduate English Students (AGES) in 1990 and Comparative Literature and English Association of Graduate Students (CoLEAGS) in 2009. CoLEAGS’ current mission is “to improve the academic, professional, and social experience of all graduate students in the Department of English and Comparative Literature through effective advocacy, organization, and planning.”
