ordinary rooms + fine dinner
Hotel on Cliff with pretty
garden + woods about it
Bournemouth on the cliffs
+ several valleys running
back from the sea.
Shore of high sand banks
Only a drive along shore
Town very hilly, but full
of parks, gardens, + fine
woods. Many villas crowded
together. Location less
attractive than Torquay +
no Hotel as attractive as
the Imperial for a stay
In the section of coast
we have seen many Magnolias
in bloom, many of
the trees being trained
against the houses.
Every house in town + country
has a garden of old
fashioned flowers
At Torquay were pittosporem [sic]
in bloom. Dahlias
Hydrangeas, Daisies +
Zenias [sic] very plentiful
