ourselves all way. Conductor
said it might be needed for
the military but none appeared
to our great relief. Arr Berlin
845 PM Din at 6. At gate
an officer motioned us to step
aside + asked us for our papers
I tried to explain we had
just landed + had none so we
were all marched to the police
office at end of station. Am.
officer spoke a little english +
after I explained our situation
he said politely we could go on
Outside we could get no cab
Waited + hunted 1/2 an hour +
then gave a porter 2 marks to
find one for us. At Bristol
found Jep just starting to the
station again for us. He had
dine suite on Inter den Linden
at 140 M. per day. Street
crowded with excited people
all night.
Aug 4 Went at once to Cooks to
find situation about money.
No money to be had in L of C
or American changed. Went
