not sell draft on their Hamburg
office so sent Jack 100 marks in
a letter. N + I spent the evening
talking with Gen C Kieffer of
Ohio who came over 2 weeks ago
as one of the peace commissioners
who were to meet at Stockholm
He goes to Rotterdam on the
special train tomorrow. A 
number are leaving the Hotel
on that train the ladies all
scared stiff. At 530 attended
a meeting at Hotel Adlon called
by the Am Chamber of Commerce
here for Americans. They answered
all questions asked
+ gave us the most accurate
information regarding steamers
Ry [[?]] travel + banking facilities
I had heard. The only ships
sailing at present are the Am
Line from Southampton Dutch
Line from Rotterdam + Italian
Line from Italy. A daily
boat also runs from Flushing
to England and many of the Amer.'s
expect to go to England in
that way if they can
