a guard + crowd. Very rich
+ picturesque views. Fine
view of the Battle Field
of Hastings. Beautiful
gardens + yew tree walks
a lovely spot. Then passed
through Hastings + St. Leonard
now out of vogue
+ not attractive. Then
over the moors away from
the sea to Eastborne + got
2 fine suites on the sea
Very large Hotel quite
full garden in front
Jep + I took a long walk
Very attractive promenade
Had an excellent dinner
in our parlor at Grand
Hotel
Sept 16 Ladies took short
walked on promenade + we
left at 1030 Had occasional
light showers all morning
but did not put the top
up. Stopped on top Beechy
