Sept 9 Ordered a car for 1030
Through mistake it came at
1115 In consequence of a
posted notice of 2 rooms on
the Adriatic for sale Sept 17
we went first to Cooks + then
to Cecil Hotel but party was
out. Then proceeded to
Dorking via Wimbledon. Sutton
Epsom + Leatherhead a most
beautiful drive over rolling
country with some fine views
Had a good lunch at the
Burford Bridge Hotel + then
drove to Guilford via Newlands
corner with an extensive
view. Several antique shops
in Guilford. Back to London
via Ripley. Kingston Richmond
Park + Hammersmith.
A beautiful drive on a fine
warm day. Roads oiled
macadam + no dust
although country is badly
parched from lack of rain
