Shipley. Then went to Mendelsohn
+ Co. but they would give
me nothing + said they had
an a/c with Brown Brun but
there was no balance to their
credit. Then to the Embassy
but no news + building was
jammed with anxious
Americans. They were
giving out small Amer. flags
for the button hole + advising
their use. We have worn
ours all day. Then to Amer.
Ex. Co. to see what they thought
of the chances of setting the
accts. They thought possibly the
military might buy it
+ pay for it after the war
N was anxious to see what her
pearl on eye glass cord would
bring + we went to largest jewelry
store + met pleasant
