J. S. Wades party of six. Said
the message came by way of
Stockholm + no private messages
could go through yet + that he
would reply to Washington this
afternoon. My messages have
not gone yet.
We are feeling very happy today
at getting ample funds + word
to the family. In response to
notices posted of a meeting in
the town hall called by the
most prominent German official
in the City. Jep + I attended at
630 Large hall packed
Speeches in German + English
attesting to the cordial feeling to
Americans in Germany + offering
them every protection possible
Mr. Gerrard made happy short
speech explaining the gratitude
of Americans for their kind
treatment here + asking for 3
cheers for the Kaiser + Germany
When published tomorrow the
effect on the public can not
but be very beneficial to us
