as Berlin + canals quite
foul in places
Aug 30 Jep + I walked to
telegraph office at 1130 took
taxi to C.S. Church on Marnex
str + found it closed through
August. English service
Took train back. Fine small
new cars Fare 2 cents Amer.
20 seats + no more allowed in
car but you can stand on
platform. Service good +
foes to every part of town
Cars all seem fired on top
After lunch we spent an hour
in the Rijks Museum.
A few of the Rembrandts are
wonderful including the Night
Watch
+ the portrait of the widow
of a Dutch Admiral
2 of Van Der Heslt + 2 Franz
Hals
+ a few of Peter de Hoogh
stand out prominently but the
number of real masterpieces
are small for so large a
