and attractive resort of the
South coast. Run 66 miles.
Sept 28 Drove about Torquay in
the morning + visited the shops
buying 2 antiques. Also drove
to Cockington a very picturesque
village with quaint
thatched cottages. Left at
2 + followed the coast to
Exeter passing Teinmouth [sic]
+ Dawlish neither very attractive
to stop at. Road fine
but very hilly affording fine
land + sea views. From
Exeter road very hilly + saw
little of the coast until we
branched of to Sidmouth
a quaint old fishing town
with all its sail boats lined
up along the promenade
An attractive looking Hotel
overlooked the town on a
hill on outskirts. Then on
to Lyme Regis by a good
but narrow road with very
steep hills + some fine
