here in Hospital after an operation
+ we see quite a good deal
of Mr. H who is a Pres't of a
German Bank in Cin.
Aug 16 Bright warm day. The
Kaiser left this morning for the
front so we are expecting important
news soon. All went to C.
S. church in morning but felt we
could only contribute 2 m. each
for collection. Walked home
through Tier Garten + Jep +
I then took longer walk.
Hear the armory + museum are
open today for first time
No news from the front for a
week + the suspense is great
Hear the lands trum [[?]] the last
reserve of 3,000,000 men are
called to mobilize this coming
week.
Aug 17 Another fine day. No
war news but several new
telegrams posted at the
Embassy saying a route is
now open from Paris to
London + another line of
