Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Quizzes for Learning the Alphabet
12018-07-21T15:58:11-07:00Montler, et al.1985d2520fc8efde4c2f92342f62d9a941749101309047plain2021-07-15T14:08:11-07:00Montler, et al.1985d2520fc8efde4c2f92342f62d9a941749101Klallam VowelsThe teacher should say each Klallam word clearly twice, giving the students time to write the word and its meaning. The teacher should then repeat any words the students ask to have repeated. Words may be repeated as many times as the students ask.
The English meaning of the word is shown, but the teacher should not give the English when giving the quiz. The purpose of these quizzes is to train the ear in hearing the sounds of Klallam; giving the English meaning defeats this purpose. Only after the quiz is finished and it’s time to check the answers should the English meaning be told.
These lists start easy and get progressively more tough. Make sure each one is mastered before moving on to the next.
