Klallam Grammar

12 Questions: ‘Who?’ and ‘What?’

In §3.2 we found out how to make questions that can be answered with a ‘yes’ or a ‘no.’ There are many questions that cannot be answered with a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no.’ ‘Who are you?’ and ‘What is this?’ are examples. In this section we will find out how to ask some of the other kinds of questions.

There are a number types of these other kinds of questions. Klallam has special question words for  ‘who,’ ‘what,’ ‘whose,’ ‘how,’ ‘when,’ ‘where at,’ ‘where to,’ ‘where from,’ ‘how much,’ ‘say what,’ and ‘do what.’

Right now we focus on only two of the possible types of questions. This section covers the basic questions asking ‘Who?’ and ‘What?’
