Labor, Page 131
Mickey’s celebrity and Disney’s promotional skills made the mouse into a popular behemoth that seemed poised to overshadow not only any other cartoon character of the era, but the craft and industry as a whole.
This pencil sketch from Mickey's Man Friday (1935) is a good example Disney's performance of its global reach, as Walt's minstrel avatar battles cannibals in a colonial adventure.
