1 The rule for forming the future tense in SENĆOŦEN is almost as easy as the past tense: put SE, after the verb. However, when the subject is SEN ‘I’ or ȽTE ‘we,’ the SE¸ follows it. So instead of SE, SEN you get SEN SE¸ and instead of SE¸ ȽTE you get ȽTE SE¸.
2 The future tense is formed the same way in both transitive and intransitive verbs.
3 Note that, like LE, ‘past tense’, the SE, ‘future tense’ follows the ‑ES ending.
4  Note that the future tense in English can be expressed in several ways: ‘I will go,’ ‘I’ll go,’ ‘I am going to go,’ or ‘I’m going to go.’  There is only one future tense in SENĆOŦEN.
5 Remember that, just as for the past tense, the future SE, is not required. So ȻENET SEN, for example, without the future or past marked, could mean 'I take it,' 'I took it,' or 'I will take it' depending on the context. Use SE, only to make it absolutely clear that the event will happen in the future.
6 It is important to mention that for some speakers it is not possible to use SE, with SW̱  ‘you.’ That is, for some speakers ¸ SE, SW̱ is not good SENĆOŦEN usage. The reason given is that ‘I can’t tell you what you are going to do in the future.’

ÁȽE E SW̱ U¸ ÍY¸ OL¸?‘How are you?’
U¸ ÍY¸ SEN.‘I’m fine.’
STOṈET SE¸ SW̱ ȻEĆÁ?‘What will you do?’
ȻONEṈET SEN SE¸.‘I’ll run.’
X̱ENIṈ SE¸ ȻEĆÁ EN¸ ŚW̱ȻONEṈET?‘Why will you run?’
ȻENET LE¸ SEN.‘I took it.’
