SENĆOŦEN: A Grammar of the Saanich Language

64 Texts to Annotate

These are two traditional stories told by the late Earl Claxton, Sr. on August 7, 1985 in the same session that Earl told the story in §63. We were at his home at SȾÁ¸EU¸TW̱ with his cousin, Manson Pelkey, also a native SENĆOŦEN speaker. Recordings of these stories are available so you can listen along as you read.

These stories contain most of the grammatical features that have been described in the preceding sections. As a final exercise, try to translate and annotate these texts as demonstrated in §63. Use the vocabulary list and the SENĆOŦEN to help you.
