Tribe Paths

This path contains all of the images connected to particular tribe names documented in Edward S. Curtis’ 22-volume set The North American Indian. It was compiled using Northwestern University’s list of tribes documented in the set. Images from each tribe are grouped together into a path and are presented in alphabetical order.

Note: These paths have been created using keyword searches for each tribe’s name in Edward Curtis’ descriptions of his photographs. Images contained in a tribe’s path may not be of that tribe, but the tribe name may be mentioned in Curtis’ description of the photo.
