Bernice Forest Diary, 1916 - 1917

October 13th, 1916

The Barometer says today: “We have observed that the president of the Y.W. is recovering from her chilly dip into the cooling waters of the fountain, caused by her attempting to express her regard for “Our Lady” a few evenings ago.” I asked Al if he was responsible for it tonight at class meeting, but he said he couldn’t tell tales. I bet Eric did it though. At class meeting we hashed over the same old story of corduroys for the girl’s skirts and boy’s pants. Tomorrow night is the Cauthorn reception. I hope I meet someone nice. I won’t get a chance if Al hangs around all evening like he did at the M.E. reception last week.
