Pike's Peak Gold Rush

Also known as the Colorado Gold Rush, the Pike’s Peak Gold Rush began in 1858, following the California rush a decade earlier. Men who participated in this gold rush were commonly known as the “Fifty-Niners,” a reference to the year when the rush peaked.
