Henry Clay

Henry Clay was an American statesman whose positions included United States Senator, Speaker of the House, and Secretary of State. Clay died in 1852 in Washington, D.C. and was the first person to lie in state. His funeral car toured many American cities where it was met by crowds waiting to pay their respects.
