Inside Pilgrim Church community members gathered together for a greens cook-off. Contestants cooked 13 different kinds of greens to be judged. Attendees sampled each one and awarded one the winner!
The Urban Farm and Garden Alliance in partnership with The Art of Food in Frogtown and Rondo hosted the cook-off and community meal. Entertainment was provided by Jesses's Heart and Soul Drumming Group, Elite Family dance group, The History Theatre and Spoken Word artist Truth Maze.

Exploring how the places we get our food help build communities
Think of the places in your neighborhood where you nourish yourself. If you're lucky, you might have a grocery store, or a small market. Perhaps a handful of restaurants, some local, some chains, fast and slow food. You might have a gas station or convenience store nearby, but it might be your only option.
I want to use this page to explore the role where we get our food impacts how we connect with our neighbors.
