En el artículo los Taínos, Antonio Curet presenta la historia del concepto Taíno y nuevo estudios que han propuesto nueva formas de acercarse al limitaciones del concepto. También trata de presentar nueva perspectivas para investigaciones en el futuro. En este artículo nos presenta el impacto y adaptación del termino Taino y como se formó en una etiqueta. Él anota que para los europeos los indígenas no eran humanas pero propiedad. Curet de-construye el uso de la palabra taino, y como lo han usado historiadores y arqueólogos. Antes que empieza su discurso el da concreta definiciones de la palabras termino, concepto y fenómeno. En la estructura de definición, origen and uso histórico, Curet da un discurso sobre la validad y aplicabilidad del termino taíno. Curet crea su propio espacio en el discurso de los Taínos, su idea de “imagined phenomenon”, trae una perspectiva a la investigación. La significación de este trabajo es que discuta la limitaciones de etiquetas pero también señala la diferencia entre el origen del termino y malinterpretaciones de historiadores. En pensando en espacio y lugar tenemos que pensar en la gente, En historia cuando hay un mal entendimiento tiene consecuencia que reconstruya la comunicación entre la cultura domínate y la cultura marginados.
