Based on Poe’s “The Black Cat” this hour long episode of the Starz show recreates the story of the Black Cat (with a few liberties taken) seen as if it were in fact happening to Poe.
Poe (Jeffrey Combs) acts as a desperate man. He is a beggar and a drunk. He appears to suffer from madness as he sees the events in the story “The Black cat” which he hasn’t written yet, to be actually occurring.
Of note. Poe and Virginia are portrayed as having a sexual affair. This is an uncommon thing in films about Poe.
