Norman Goerge plays Edgar Allan Poe with a distinctive Southern accent.  He reads from Poe’s actual correspondence. Other actors read correspondences to Poe.   George also appears in several sequences where Poe is shown with Virginia.  There is not actual dialogue in any of the sequences, only the narration as a voice over.

All the sequences showing “moments” of Poe’s life involve the women in his life (Virginia and Helen Whitman) and there is one where he is walking through a graveyard.

There is a moment when the narrator and the voice over seemingly contradict themselves.
