Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.
The Raven. Dir. Brabin, Charles J. Perf. Walthall, Henry B., and Warda Howard. Grapevine Video, 1995-1915. Film.
A Romance of Edgar Allan Poe by George C. Hazleton. Founded upon Mr. Hazleton’s widely known script and play.) Scenario and Direction by Charles J. Brabin. - from the movie title card
Silent movie. It goes as far back as showing Poe’s ancestors getting off the boat. There's a fantasy sequence featuring what appears to be Robin Hood? It’s so much a silent movie that Poe barely has a personality. While it starts off very non-descript, before long Poe is the tortured soul everyone can recognize.
