Suggests Poe was transported to 2001 when he died in 1849.  He awakens in a mental hospital filled with other patients claiming to be Poe regardless of age, race, or gender.  Littered wth Poe allusions.  There are a few suggestions to implicate that the narrator is the real Poe.

Poe is confused, but more than that eloquent and accepting of the situation.
