Poe pays a man who claims he can stop people from dying to help Virginia in 1847. Virginia does not want this, but Poe insists despite her protests. A few Poe elements sneak in.

Poe is desperate in his love to keep Virginia from dying. There is nothing very distinctive to Poe’s personality.  The story itself is a very Poe sounding scenario.
