Come to Wonderland
Cynthia Macias
2011
In these posters, Macias envisions an advertising campaign from a would-be Wonderland tourist bureau that gleefully trumpets how the land has been “embracing madness since 1865”—the year the first Alice book was published. The advertising campaign is designed to invite creative minds to come to a place where society did not limit them. Albert Einstein, the Wright brothers, and Coco Chanel are recognizable historical personages from our world but subtly altered with whimsical, Carrollian touches.
