A Mad Tea Party

Fine arts major Joyce Lee created an all-digital landscape commemorating the celebrated tea party. However, a sense of unease permeates the image; its odd verticality is accentuated by the elongated shapes of the foregrounded characters and background forest that towers over the nearby house. Upon further examination, the mood seems decidedly darker; ghostly figures outlined in a macabre scarlet peek out from the trees and Alice’s chair embraces her in a decidedly haunting manner.
