Wonder Cat

Inspired by Salvador Dalí’s illustrations, animators Ronzani and Wang capture the hypnotic qualities of Carroll’s work through a short video that feels like a hallucinatory dream. They draw the viewer in through the maw of the Cheshire Cat to face a spiraling array of marching playing card soldiers. The piece ends with Alice floating into a brightly colored garden composed of loose digital brush strokes. Throughout, the soundtrack oscillates from dreamy to mysterious to playful to moody.
