Italian Migrations - HONOR313_FA18

Veronica Montemayor

Hello class, my name is Veronica and I have just entered my third year here at San Diego State. I am majoring in Business Administration, specifically Marketing, along with the Honors minor. I have been involved in a variety of organizations these past few years, such as a club member of SDSU’s American Marketing Association, a marketing committee member for TEDx SDSU, and was the Vice Chair of Special Projects for Associated Students Marketing and Communications Committee. During my sophomore year, I worked as a Supplemental Instructor for the course STAT119.

Aside from all the academics and schooling, I am passionate about fashion and design, music, photography, traveling, cooking, and of course taking naps. Last spring I was an intern for San Diego Visual Productions, a boutique production company. I developed social media strategies for the company’s platforms, assisted with visual merchandising projects, and attended corporate events. After I graduate and enter the real world, I would love to be a creative director or marketing director, and be able to intertwine my creative side with my business side.

Last summer, I was lucky enough to travel to Florence, Venice, and Rome. I absolutely fell in love in Italy, and I am planning to study abroad in Rome this Spring. Because of these experiences, it sparked my interest in this course. In addition, it would be nice to learn more about Italy’s history and culture before I live there for a few months. I believe everyone has experienced migration one way or another. For instance, my family and I migrated from the Philippines to America when I was only five months old. In addition, I migrated from Orange County to San Diego to attend San Diego State.
