My name is Peter Mitri. I am twenty years old and I am from a town outside of Boston, Massachusetts. I am a second year SLHS major and so far I have been very happy with my decision to escape the cold and live in sunny San Diego! I look forward to traveling a lot in the next few years, both in the US and out of it. I especially look forward to traveling to Italy! I have been interested in Italian culture since I enrolled in an Italian class freshman year of high school and constantly want to learn more about the country, its history, and its language. I have continued my passion for Italian here at SDSU where I will minor in Italian and study abroad in Italy. This course is the perfect opportunity to learn about Italy from a new perspective and to understand the culture other than from a linguistic standpoint. My great grandparents came to America from Sicily, so that is the only experience I have with migration other than moving from Boston to San Diego for college.
