School lunch

School lunch can mean

the midday meal eaten at (usually served by) any school

Even in this general sense, it is usually taken to mean elementary, middle, and high schools, and is not often used when referring to post-secondary education.

but is often specifically referring to

the government-subsidized lunch (and breakfast) program in the vast majority of American elementary, middle, and high schools both public and private

Most focus has been on elementary schools in particular. A school lunch program operating independently or through the national program may source traditionally, locally, or from the school's garden (see C-B-G School Greenhouse, for example)
