Sabrina's aunts decide to invite Edgar Allan Poe to dinner on Halloween night in hopes of a good scare since nothing seems to really scare them anymore. But instead of reading a scary story Poe has begun writing inspirational poems as they are more popular. He begins one poem on "rainbows and sparkles" much to dismay of the aunts. In the end, their cat (witch's familiar) reads his own stories which manage to scare both the aunts and Poe.
In this, Poe is portrayed as a bit haughty. He knows he's good and smiles fondly at all the compliments he is lavished with.
