Walk continued

You take a look at the creature, animated trash, bucking its head, limbs quivering. You smile to yourself. What are you smiling about? You think to yourself, it’s a brilliant idea someone had.

Someone’s pant leg sends your messenger bag swinging and your head snaps down, around, and you move out of the way. Gaze broken, you see the people walking by around you. You really do need to get to that meeting, what were you doing, stopped standing, gazing up at trash for so long?

You walk on, and still in a hurry, except now you notice the empty coca cola paper cup next to the storm drain. You see the ripped shopping bag and end of a broom next to the stoop. Your eye follows an empty pack of Wrigley’s as it dances in circles on the ground.
