I think that extreme gamers, those who work in front of their xbox's or playstations for hours on end apply qualities that are desirable in the work force. One of those being basic problem solving. I do believe however that people do not really problem solve on games as much as they fumble around until they find what makes the game progress. Gamers also strategize. But to be honest, I cannot say that there are many video games that are strategy based. 

What really intrigues me, is thinking that people on social networks could be thought of as players playing a game. I don't consider facebook a game, although, I am sure there are those who do. I think the people on different social networks trying on "new hats" could be gamers, and one quality that they use but would also be desirable in the workplace is the ability to shape yourself to suit the company. For example, I have known some really cantankerous people, but when they put on their name plate, and call the first customer to their station, they are just as sweet and welcoming as can be. Likewise, I have known bosses whose generally mild manner becomes a shadow of the past when things aren't done correctly and they have to ensure their team does their jobs. My last example will be myself as a teacher. I talk to the kids at their level, and I report to my boss as myself, and I report to my bosses boss as meak and quiet as possible. The ability to change attitude and body language is a desirable trait in the workplace.
