Context

This bench was custom designed by Taliesin’s Charles Gordon Lee for Beaver Meadows Visitor Center. Within his sketches, he stipulates for a natural wood finish on all furniture within the visitor center. He also specifies for four inch thick cushions with foam rubber or rubberized hair cushion and muslin upholstery. Gordon Lee also requested that the fabric for all upholstered furniture in the visitor center be from Moss Rose Manufacturing Company Color No. 58.

It is unclear whether the current upholstery is the original Moss Rose fabric or whether the bench has been reupholstered.
