     Racial discrimination in housing, while now illegal, has served as a major contributor to the racial wealth gap between African Americans and Whites in the United States. The table shown lists the median value of assets for households, by type of asset owned from the U.S. Census Bureau for 2019.

     As illustrated in the table, the differences are stark and the gap is wide, how do we bridge it? A great place to start is to increase the number of African Americans owner occupied households.
