While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

The Scalar platform does not host videos, users can upload videos from Youtube as media.
1. Log-in to Youtube
-See account information below if you are participating in the Food in Society Workshop -Simply click on the upload button on the top right corner of the screen OR -If you want to manage your upload, check the status of an uploaded video, you can click on the user icon in the upper right corner and select "creator studio".
2. Select your video from your media storage location
-It can take a long time for videos to upload over a wireless connection depending on your internet speed and connection strength -Make sure "public" is selected if your video is ready to be viewed -Click the upload button
3. Use the embed link for your video to add the media to Scalar
