While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Creating a new introduction page 1. Go to the main page of your book, a. This page you will be on by default. b. If you are in the dashboard, click on the "Back to Book" link on the upper right side of the page (Editors: Add each page and media you add or create to the Scalar Central Tracking page of the Knowledge Source Assessment spreadsheet)
Editing a page 1. Go to the dashboard by clicking the "dashboard" link on the upper right corner of the page 2. Select the link for the page you want to add. a. to edit the name of the page, click the "edit" button next to the name of the page.
