Trisha Bonham, MS, is a PhD student in American Culture Studies at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio, where she will be the first graduate student to teach a 4000 level class (WS4680, Reproductive Health and Politics) as a graduate teaching instructor.  With a master’s degree in Native American Leadership from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Bonham explores the intersectional and interdisciplinary issues of race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation and class within marginalized communities.  Her research interests include tribal sovereignty, violence against women of color, MMIW, archival violence, and critical race theory.  Her background in the medical field (in diagnostic medical sonography as an undergraduate degree) has also led to a keen interest in healthcare disparities among people of color along with the effects of generational trauma.
