Icarus
When I was younger
I flew up
to my dreams
Why did I stop
The way I flew
Was never really
Going to be sustainable
How did you fly
I would work hard
Harder than I should have
I thought I could fly forever
I can't fly anymore
I put my work
Before myself
Before my mental health
I stopped
Before it killed me
That probably saved me
From myself
Please understand
I wanted to fly higher
But I knew I was never
Going to be able to survive that way
I was able to fly
when I was younger
Stopping that stopped me
From becoming an Icarus
