This bridge was built by Narses on the Aniene river two miles outside of Rome, and is, among the ancient bridges, the only one to have remained intact until our times. Key: 1. Marble plaque on the arch of the bridge in memory of Narses carved from the internal part of the bridge. 2. 3. Small tower and other walls built afterward. 4. Corbels used in the construction of the arch, and left there for the use of its restoration. 5. Cavity of the arch from which one of the aforementioned corbels fell. 6.
