Just One More Day

She dances on a tightrope swaying this way and that
With the wind whispering in her ear, maybe it just wants to chat
Standing on a bridge, the sun is rising
The leaves are yellow and the flowers are gray
Here comes another autumn day
She grips the cold metal railing
And the sound of her heart beats louder and louder
The sound of her heart like rain makes a pitter-patter
A fire glistens deep inside
From the sunlight that reflects in her eyes
A strand of hair lays loose around this gentle,
this weary face that is her own
The dark orange sun is now a giant in the sky
And so she looks up to say, “Just one more day.”
