How to Ask
With curdled letters and crippled sentences,
And those phobic dreams that remind me to live
Through tall buildings and pink hair brushes;
How to ask for less time while adding simple days.
This punishment of love and care
Said to come from a God I don’t know,
And those unanswered calls of desire and lust,
Found in the folds of torn curtains and unused stairwells;
How to ask for more sight while looking into the sun.
