Insomnia
2 a.m.
I can only feel my body in its isolation
filled to the brim with that familiar
hollowness
I wish my arms were someone else’s
wrapped tight around my body
singing sleep in my ear
3 a.m.
Curled inward under covers
perpetual cold feet
wishing I truly preferred solitude
I resent the idea of you and your imagined comfort
resent that I imagine anyone
with that power over me
when I have so little already
