Streams in the 2022 Web Edition of Victory Garden
In reconceptualizing Victory Garden for the Web, Moulthrop developed a new navigational structure that he says "departs significantly from the chaos of the original." This innovation to his hypertext novel are the "Streams," 43 in total, that serve as episodes or what he calls "sequences of pages that present scenes, events, and riffs . . . as discrete units." He tells us that this structure had always been part of the Classic editions but were not necessarily "visible to the reader" ("Preface"). As the screenshot shows, each unit is accessible via a hyperlink and is accompanied by a illustrative image.
